Luke Byrne (born on 8 July 1993 in Dublin) is an Irish footballer, currently playing for Shamrock Rovers in the League of Ireland.

Career

Luke Byrne played with Bohemians' A Championship side in 2011 and graduated to the first team in 2012 under new manager Aaron Callaghan. He made his senior debut for Bohs in a Setanta Cup tie against Portadown on 13 February 2012 and went on to make 17 appearances for Bohemians in the league as the club finished seventh in the Premier Division. He also played both European games against Icelandic team Thor Akureyri, which Bohs lost 5–1 on aggregate and was selected for the Ireland U19 squad during the year. Luke re-signed with the club for the 2013 season and became a key member of the Bohemians team, playing in 31 games during the league season as the Gypsies finished tenth in the table, just two points away from the relegation play-offs.
