Luke Hellier is an American politician who has been mayor of Lakeville, Minnesota since 2023. Before becoming mayor, he was a member of the Lakeville City Council from 2017 to 2023.[1]

Personal life

Hellier and his wife Josi have five children.[2]

Political career

Early in his career, Hellier worked for Michele Bachmann, Erik Paulsen, and the Minnesota Senate Republican Caucus. In 2014, he joined Public Affairs Co., a public relations firm based in Minnesota.[3]

In 2016, Hellier announced his run for Lakeville City Council.[4] He was the leading vote-getter in the election that November. He was re-elected in 2020.[5]

In 2022, Lakeville mayor Doug Anderson announced his retirement. Hellier filed to run for the seat and was elected without opposition.[6] He took office on January 3, 2023.
