Captain Luke William Edwards (born 15 June 1994) is a British Army officer and traveller. He is best known for his book called ‘Travel Escapades’ which was published in July 2019 and details some of the incidents which haven’t gone quite to plan when he has been travelling the world.

The son of teacher Carol (née Williams) and accountant Phil Edwards, Edwards was born on 15 June 1994 at Tunbridge Wells Hospital in Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent and he grew up in the town. Luke was educated at St James’ Primary School and The Skinners School.[1].
He commissioned from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst as an officer into the Royal Logistic Corps (RLC) on 12 December 2014 [2] and was posted, on completion of the RLC Troop Commander’s Course, to 1 Regiment RLC based in Gutersloh, Germany. He returned with the regiment to the UK and moved to Pirbright in Surrey to become an instructor for basic soldier training. Edwards was promoted to Captain on 13 December 2017 and has since deployed on operations to Somalia where he was based in Beledweyne in support of the African Union.
He has extensive experience of travel in over 80 countries and wrote about some of his least enjoyable experiences in his book ‘Travel Escapades: Adventures and upsets around the world’ which was published on 15 July 2019 [3] [4] [5]
