Luo Yizhou (Chinese: 罗一舟; born March 16, 2000), is a Chinese actor, dancer, singer and center of IXFORM born in Yinchuan, Ningxia.[1] In 2011, he was enrolled in the Department of Dance in People's Liberation Army Academy of Art and graduated in 2016[2]. Since 2018, he has studied drama in the acting department of The Central Academy of Drama[3]. After 3 months, he signed to Youhug Media[1] in 2020, and entered iQiyi's idol survival program Youth With You 3, as the center of the theme song[4], and debuted as the center of temporary Chinese boy group IXFORM on July 2021[5][6].
Early life
Luo Yizhou was born on March 16, 2000, in Yinchuan, Ningxia, China[1].
In 2011, he was enrolled in the technical secondary school of the Department of Dance in People's Liberation Army Academy of Art[2]. He was selected as the representative to welcome VIPs during meetings with foreign affairs officials and took part in events such as the welcome performance for the Queen of Belgium and Mrs. Mexico[2]. He practiced classical dance, ballet and folk dance for 11 years[2]. He is good at disassembling class 95 rifles[2]. After graduating in 2016, he was enrolled in an Art Troupe and worked for one year[2].
In 2018, he was admitted to The Central Academy of Drama and majored in the performance department[3].
Career
2019–2020: Career Beginnings
On May 17, 2019, Yizhou participated in the ATEC 11th International Forum in Beijing, playing the main character "Xu Xian" in the theatre "White Snake" and receiving a certain degree of attention[7][8].
In 2020, he played a rescuer in the Chinese anti-epidemic drama "With You"[9]
2021: Youth With You 3
In January 2021, Luo Yizhou participated in iQiyi's reality survival show Youth with You Season 3 as a trainee of Youhug Media[10]. Despite once being caught in the controversy of never washing his underwear because he liked that smell, Luo Yizhou gained a lot of popularity with his excellent singing and dancing skills. On February 25, he presented "Tiger" and his personal dance "Feng Xia" on the initial rating stage with the Thunder Gabba crew, earning an A grade. On February 27, he was placed in the first public performance position for the dance group "Hero (Kick It)" and held the position of captain, and finally received votes for the Dance dance group first in individual votes and second in the group. On March 18, with the new rule of two people practicing the theme song in a group before being re-rated by the instructors, he teamed up with Tang Jiuzhou to practice the theme song together, and his re-rating was A. On April 17, he performed the song "The Tamer" in the third public performance theme test and became the C-position, which was the first place in the individual voting and the second place in the public performance group. However, as the show was embroiled in the milk-wasting controversy, on May 9, 2021, iQiyi announced on Weibo that the finale was cancelled[11]
2021–present: IXFORM
On July 25, 2021, due to the withdrawal of the first place, Luo Yizhou, who was originally the second place winner, filled the C position, and announced the debut of group IXFORM together with Tang Jiuzhou (Jojo), Lian Huaiwei, Liu Guanyou (Neil), Deng XiaoCi (Jerome D.), Sun Yinghao, Jun Liu, Duan XingXin (X) and Sun YiHang in the Chengdu "Super Music Festival"[12]. On August 23, it was officially announced that Yizhou was the Senior of iQiyi's dance competition reality show Born to Dance[13] At the end of November, Luo Yizhou began to recuperate completely after injuring ligaments in his left ankle and suffering an avulsion fracture in his right foot during rehearsals.
