Lynsey MacKenzie (b1997) is a Scottish painter with a growing reputation. She graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 2019 with a degree in Painting & Printmaking. She was selected to exhibit at the Royal Scottish Academy as part of New Contemporaries 2020, is a Visual Arts Scotland Graduate Showcase Shortlisted Artist, and has been awarded the VAS Great Art Award, the SSA Wilhelmina Barns-Graham Award, the RSA Latimer Award and the RSA WASPS Award. She has participated in residencies across the UK, and has work in both private and public collections, including the NHS Lothian art collection. She is also exhibiting in the Edinburgh Art Festival 2022.[1]
MacKenzie’s largely abstract work combines ways of working; from memory and observations of her surroundings, to working intuitively, responding to marks and colours.
