MÜDEK (Engineering Education Programs Evaluation and Accreditation Association) is an association that carries out accreditation, evaluation and information studies for engineering education programs in various disciplines. MÜDEK works to improve the quality of engineering education and is an independent organization.[1]

Engineering Evaluation Board was established in 2002 under the name MÜDEK by the Engineering Deans Council (MDK), which consists of deans of faculties providing engineering education, with the aim of doing and implementing programs for the evaluation of engineering undergraduate programs. In 2003, the evaluation of engineering programs began.

MÜDEK became an association in 2007.[2]

Since 17.12.2006, MÜDEK has been a member of the European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education (ENAEE - European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education).

MÜDEK has also been a signatory at Washington Accord (WA) since 15.06.2011.

MÜDEK's evaluations and authorizations[edit]

MÜDEK was recognized by YÖK in 2007 as a national quality assurance institution focused on national, sectoral and program qualifications in engineering programs of higher education institutions, and was authorized by the Higher Education Quality Board (YÖKAK) until 31.01.2023 in 2018.

MÜDEK has been evaluated every 5 years by the European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education (ENAEE) for the first time since 2009, and the engineering undergraduate programs accredited by the decision of the ENAEE Executive Board have been awarded the EUR-ACE Label until December 31, 2023. authorized to give.

Engineering Education Programs Accreditation Board (MAK)[edit]

Evaluation of engineering education programs and taking accreditation decisions are made by MÜDEK's Engineering Education Programs Accreditation Board (MAK).

MAK consists of four university lecturers, a representative of the Union of Chambers of Turkish Engineers and Architects TMMOB, a representative of the Turkish Quality Association KalDer, and two industry representatives in total.[3]

MAK, program evaluations are made with the program evaluation teams formed by MAK.

Number of Faculties Accredited by MÜDEK[edit]

As of 01.07.2021, the number of Engineering Faculties whose programs are accredited is 75.[4]
