Obinna Simon known as MC Tagwaye is a Nigerian comedian, entertainer and activist. He is popular for making mimicking videos of President of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari.[2][3]

Early Life And Education[edit]

MC Tagwaye was born June 24, 1986 in Ingawa, Katsina State of Nigeria. His birth name was Obinna Simon. He also known as MC Tagwaye, MC means "Master of ceremoniea and "Tagwaye" means twin in Hausa Language. His parents are of Igbo descent from Anambra State in Southern Nigeria. He completed his primary and secondary education in Ingawa, Katsina state. He studied Integrated Science at Federal College of Education Katsina (FCE Katsina) in Katsina State. MC Tagwaye worked as a teacher for seven years before entering to entertainment. Comedian MC Tagwaye has his own foundation "Tagwaye Foundation".[4][5][6]

Career[edit]

MC Tagwaye started his career with the MC at festivals in Katsina State. He started his comedy drama of mimicking Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari on a radio program in which he made a voice similar to that of President Buhari, which was very popular. Tagwaye then started making a video comedy in which he impersonated President Buhari.[7][8]

Family[edit]

Tagwaye's parents are Igbo descent. They are from Anambra State and live in Ingawa, Katsina State. Tagwaye's Twin brother is a entrepreneur who he calls him his best friend.[9]

Personal life[edit]

MC Tagwaye married Hauwa, daughter of a Hauwa Uwais, a special adviser on social investments to the Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, Maryam Uwais.[10][11][12]
