Harry Christopher George Lewis (born 24 November 1996), known online as Wroetoshaw or W2S is a British Youtuber and Internet personality , known for YouTube videos, for the W2S and Sidemen channels, which mainly consists of Let's Play videos and challenges. Harry is a member and co-founder of the entertainment collective known as the Sidemen, alongside six other British YouTubers, producing online videos and merchanise to a combined audience of over 91 million subscribers.[4][5][6][7]

In 2012, Lewis registered his YouTube account under the name Wroetoshaw. Lewis built his following from posting gaming–commentary videos of the FIFA video game series, although his following had grown at a fast rate during 2019 , Lewis in 2019 had a period of not uploading for 9 months due to him being "burnt out on editing"[8] [9] . He continued his presence on the internet through other forms of social media and the YouTube channel, Sidemen. As of January 2020, the channel has received over 14 million subscribers and 4 billion video views.[10]

Early life and education[edit]

Harry Christopher George Lewis, was born on 24 November 1996, in Alderney, which is a part of Bailiwick of Guernsey and lived there until his family moved to Guernsey, which is also a part of Bailiwick of Guernsey, when he was seven.[1] Lewis was educated at Guernsey Grammar School[11] and dropped out when he was 17 to focus on his YouTube channel.[12]

YouTube career[edit]

2012-2017: Beginnings, FIFA videos, Sidemen and expanding content[edit]

Lewis rose to fame by making "pack openings" on the popular video game FIFA. In early 2014 Lewis joined the Sidemen(the last one to do so) prompting him to gain an increased in followers and views.[13]

On 4 August 2017, KSI tweeted that he would be leaving the Sidemen, citing conflicts with fellow member, Ethan Payne.[14][15] Shortly thereafter, he released a number of diss track videos criticising members of his then-former group, to which Lewis responded back with two diss track videos.[15] the diss track "KSI Sucks" currently has 53 million views whereas the diss track video "KSI Exposed" was deleted as Harry believed "lines were crossed"[16].

2016-present: Sidemen YouTube channel[edit]

On 15 May 2016, The Sidemen uploaded their first YouTube video. The channel was first created to stream their charity football match. At the start of 2018, the entertainment collective started uploading different content consisting of challenges and game shows every Sunday to garner an audience for then upcoming YouTube original "The Sidemen Show" [17]. Due to the success of the channel they continued releasing content after the release of their show [18]

Philanthropy[edit]

In 2016, Lewis played in the Sidemen Charity Football match, which he helped organise as part of the Sidemen, held at the St Mary's Stadium, Southampton, raising over £110,000 for the Saints Foundation.[19][20] The second charity match, held at The Valley Stadium, London, also featured Lewis and raised £210,00 ($273,094) for National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children and Charlton Athletic Community Trust.[21][22] The third charity match, held at The Valley Stadium for the second time in a row, also featured Lewis and raised £65,747 ($87,476) for the Young Minds Trust and Charlton Athletic Community Trust.[23]

Personal life[edit]

Lewis has two siblings Harry and Rosie. Lewis's family continues to live in Guernsey while he spends most of his time in London.
