MICIMATT
MICIMATT is an acronym created by Ray McGovern to describe an evolving influence over the government of the United States beyond the Military–industrial complex term used by Dwight Eisenhower in his farewell address.
The acronym expands to "Military-Industrial-Congressional-Intelligence-Media-Academia-Think-Tank complex" as acknowledged by The Free Dictionary[1] the Washington Times[2] and the Asia Times [3], and initially published [4] at a site which Wikipedia deems unreliable.
Financial and structural influences over the USA's government have evolved in the last 60 years, and research exposing those expanding influences has been published. The Gilens and Benjamin [5] paper exposing a linkage of money, but not voter numbers, to enacted policy is a prime example of these revelations of expanded influence. The MICIMATT term is a modern evolution of Eisenhower's warning which accords with this research.
