MacArthur Commons is a multi-family apartment complex, developed by Hines and designed by Ankrom Moisan Architects, located at 539-540 40th Street, Oakland, California. There will be 385 units between three separate structures on 2.18 acres. Construction began February 2017 and is scheduled for final completion in March 2019.[1] MacArthur Commons is Parcel A and Parcel C of the MacArthur BART Transit Village, a transit-oriented development, situated adjacent to MacArthur BART in the Temescal district of Oakland.[2][3]
Apartments[edit]
MacArthur Commons will consist of seven lofts, 59 studios, 241 one-bedroom apartments and 78 two-bedroom apartments. The general contractor, Build Group, anticipates the first residents to be able to move in October 2018.[4]
Retail[edit]
A pedestrian plaza, referred to as "The Mews", will be between the buildings of the complex, granting access to 20,000 square feet of available retail space.[4]
