Maddalena Ischiale
Maddalena Metrano Ischiale is an Italian stage, cinema and TV actress[1]. She currently lives in Los Angeles, USA[2]. She studied drama at the Sapienza University of Rome. She became a member of the Actors Studio West in Los Angeles under the direction of the late Martin Landau[3][4][5].
Career
Early work
Ischiale landed her first role, playing opposite Rupert Everett in Michele Soavi's Dellamorte Dellamore (1994)[6][7]. She was directed by Maurizio Nichetti in Luna L'altra (1996)[8][9].
Breakthrough
Ischiale's breakthrough performance was in the role of Louise Dossi Zamperini, the long-suffering and steadfast mother of Louis Zamperini, U.S. Olympic athlete and WW II POW, in Unbroken (2014), directed by Angelina Jolie[1][2][5][10][11][12][13]. Ischiale reprised the role of Louise Zamperini in the sequel Path to Redemption (2018) directed by Harold Cronk[14][15][16]. She has been awarded as Best Supporting Actress at the NoVa Film Festival, 8th Edition, for her role of Claudia in When The Mist Clears (2020)[17][18].
