Biography

Pendleton grew up in Fresno, California.[3]

Pendleton co-founded Tunnel Vision clothing with a friend in 2014.[3] She is known for splitting the company's earnings equally between all employees, with each employee, including herself, taking home the same wage.[4] Madeline self-describes her business structure as running on a "socialist model." One of Pendleton's goals for the company is ensuring every employee owns a home.[5][not in citation given]

Pendleton's first book, I Survived Capitalism and All I Got Was This Lousy T-Shirt: Everything I Wish I Never Had To Learn About Money, was released on 16 January 2024.[1][6] It has been described as a mix of autobiographical and personal finance material, detailing Pendleton's life and how she navigated homelessness, debt, and living on a low income, sharing a series of "capitalism survival skills" that aided her survival.
