Wijesinghe Pathirage Harindra Madhava Wijesinghe (Sinhala: මාධව විජේසිංහ; born on 18 June 1988) is a Sri Lankan actor and TV presenter. Madhava made his acting debut when he was just five years old, in Asoka Handagama's Chanda Kinnarie film.[1] After that he appeared on Anagarika Dharmapala Srimathano movie as a reporter in 2014. [2] Madhava is popoular as a Teledrama actor and a presenter in the Sri Lankan Television Industry than a film actor. [3] In 2020 he made it in to the Sri Lankan Reality Show Record Book, having presenting Derana Little Star for its 10th continuous season.[4] Derana Little Star became the first reality show,to be continuously staged for 10 years in a row. Early life, background, and Education[edit]
Madhava Wijesinghe was born in Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka. He is the youngest of two brothers. His father Padmasena Perera, is a retired Deputy Director General of State Mortgage Bank Colombo, Sri Lanka. Mother worked at Ministry of Mahaveli Colombo, Sri Lanka. |[7]
Madhava's first teledrama was the 2009 Wassana Sihinaya a high school love story teledrama starring Dinakshie Priyasad. |[8] Madhava and Dinakshie Priyasad both became very popular among young fans after Wassana Sihinaya screened on Television in 2009. |[9] Madhava then appeared on Anagarika Dharmapala Srimathano movie screened on the 4th of September 2014 portraying a young enthusiastic reporter directed by Sanath Abesekara. [10] He has appeared in lots of commercial advertisements like Marmite, Munchi, Batik, Sinhala Avurudu and other Traditional Clothing model ads during his teenage years til present. He became the best man for over 30 weddings including those of many popular celebrities like Dinesh Chandimal, Saranga Disasekara, Gayesha Perera, Samadhi Arunachaya and many more. [11]
Madhava is most popular as a TV presenter in Derana Little Star and Derana Champion Stars Unlimited. [12]
Madhava attended Maharagama Central College, Maharagama up to the ordinary level (O/L) examination and completed his high school studies at the Lumbini College in the Commerce Stream. Thereafter he completed his Diploma in Writer-ship and Communication awarded by The University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka. In 2011 Madhava also completed a Diploma in Television Program Production Techniques and Video Technology awarded by the National Youth Services Council, Maharagama , Sri Lanka. [13]

Madhava started his major acting role in 2009 in the Teledrama version of Upul Shantha Sannasgala’s renowned romantic novel Wassana Sihinaya. The teledrama was produced and directed by Janaka Siriwardana and Kavindya Jayasekara penned the script. [14] In 2011 Madhava played the role of Anuhas,a stubborn rich spoiled boy in the teledrama of Thurya. After that he did the main role in Sujatha [15]teledrama with Nehara Pieris.
Madhava has appeared as the lead-role in over 50 music videos for many famous singers. T.M. Jayarathne, Roshan Fernando, Prasanga Thisera, Raween Kanishka, Laksman Wijesekara, Ruwan Fernando, Heena Mandarame music video for Himashel Alwis are some of the famous music videos he appeared from 2009 till present. [16] Madhava Wijesinghe and Sachini Nipunsala concluded Derana Little Star season 10 with huge success in June 27th 2020 regardless of COVID-19. [17]
