It is one of the oldest Temples in Colombo dedicated to Maha Kali Amman. Under British rule, this place was given the name Paradise. The presence of three sacred trees: Bo, Palymrah and Margosa growing together in this area has made it a holy site which prompted people to build a temple here.[1]
