MAJOR 2nd is a sports manga series succeeding the previous Major (series), written by Takuya Mitsuda. An anime adaptation is being planned and scheduled to air on NHK Educational TV on April 2018.[1][2]

- Daigo Shigeno (茂野 大吾 Shigeno Daigou)
- Voiced by: Natsumi Fujiwara[3]
- is the eldest son of Goro Shigeno and Kaoru Shigeno. He was first born during the epilogue of the previous Major series, and becomes the main protagonist of the MAJOR 2nd series.
- Hikaru Sato (佐藤 光 Satou Hikaru)
- Voiced by: Kōtarō Nishiyama[3]
- is the son of Toshiya Sato and Daigo Shigeno's friend and baseball rival in MAJOR 2nd.
- Mutsuko Sakura (佐倉 睦子 Sakura Mustuko)
- Voiced by: Kana Hanazawa[4]
- is Daigo Shigeno's classmate and the heroine of MAJOR 2nd. As of the Fuurin Middle Arc, she and Daigo enrolled in Fuurin Junior High and is vice-captain of its baseball club.

- is one of Daigo Shigeno's rivals introduced in the Little League Arc in MAJOR 2nd. She and Michiru Mayumura are the youngest born-twins of Ken Mayumura and Shizuka Mayumura.

- is the primary protagonist of the Major series. The manga/anime franchise is centered on his life story and baseball career from pre-school to adulthood while emphasizing both sports as well as studying while in Preschool and Middle-School. He had many injuries. In the Head, His Foot, Both his shoulders.
- Kaoru Shimizu (清水 薫 Shimizu Kaoru)
- Voiced by: Yuko Sasamoto[4]
- is the main heroine of the Major (series), and the love interest of Goro Shigeno. Introduced in the Little League Arc, she meets Goro Honda who later joins the Mifune Dolphins to help fill the team. She appears through each story arc throughout Goro's life, whom she later marries in the end and bears two children, eventually becoming Kaoru Shigeno (茂野 薫, Shigeno Kaoru).
- Izumi Shigeno (茂野 泉 Shigeno Izumi)
- Voiced by: Natsumi Takamori[4]
- is the first born daughter of Goro Shigeno and Kaoru Shigeno. She serves as a support character to her younger brother, Daigo Shigeno the protagonist of MAJOR 2nd.
- Toshiya Sato (佐藤寿也 Satou Toshiya)
- Voiced by: Fuyuka Oura (Young), Masakazu Morita[3]
- is Goro Honda's best friend during childhood and longtime rival through baseball in the Major series. He then makes a reappearance in the MAJOR 2nd sequel as Hikaru Sato's father, supporting and coaching both sons of his and his best friend.
