According to his Mother, when the child was being bathed, seven scintillating marks appeared on his body and began illuminating. Those marks were of crimson color, distinctive from the rest of the body. In summary, the seal (stamp) of seven saintly people, also known as the Stamp of Sainthood was bestowed upon him and still remain. After the bathing ceremony, Mahmood Shah was taken to the holy place presence of Syed Rasool Shah Khaki where he offered the Azan in his son’s ear, put honey in his mouth, and offered prayers in gratitude to Allah because his face and the signs on his body were a testimony of his Sainthood (Qalandariyat). He entered into the physical universe being bestowed with the attributes of a Qalandar. His holy mother said, “Since the age of three years he has been fasting, not eating anything except milk.” As early as his childhood, Mahmood Shah would retire to deserted and lonely places. He was extremely taciturn and quiet. He was unusually different and distinguished from other children his age. Imbued and brimmed with the attributes of Qalandariyat, what he willed happened. As a result, people rushed to him seeking good fortune and fulfillment of their wishes.

Since his childhood, he used to hold a stick in his hand. Some boys from his class broke the stick out of mischief. Pir Saheb remained quiet and did not say anything to the boys. When the principal came to know about the incident, he scolded the school boys saying, “Why did you do this?” Mahmood Shah keeps rapt in Allah’s remembrance while holding this stick.”
