Maksuda Akhter a.k.a. Maksuda Prioty (born 7 August 1989) was crowned Ms Ireland 2014 on 11 January 2014 in Dublin, Ireland.[2][3] She was first runner-up in the Ms Earth 2015 pageant held in Jamaica.[4][5] She was declared Ms Earth International 2016 by the authority for her charity work during the contest.[4]
Early life and education
Maksuda Akhter was born in Bangladesh on 7 August 1989. She is from Comilla District. After the death of her father[3] in 1997, she left Dhaka at the age of 12 in 2001 for Ireland.[4] She had just finished class 9 at London International School then. Her mother died in 2008.[3]
She completed her graduation in business management from the Institute of Technology, Tallaght in Dublin. She attended a flight school.[1] Now she is a qualified pilot.
Modelling
Maksuda Akhter was a finalist for Top Model UK in over 25 categories in 2014.[1]
She modelled for artist Jim Fitzpatrick in a portrait painting.[4]
Personal life
Akhter is living as a single mother with two children (Mourin, Abraz) in Dublin.[5]
Filmography
Akhter worked in two films by director Ciaran Davies.[5] She had an opportunity to work in a Bollywood film but refused due to an offensive offer from the producer.[6]

Charitable works
Maksuda Akhter is involved with "Subornogram Foundation", a non-profit organization that works with underprivileged children.[3] She also works with Diabetes Ireland, Women's Aid, Temple Street Hospital.
