Maldives-Switzerland relations are the bilateral relations between the Republic of Maldives and the Swiss Confederation.

History[edit]

The Maldives and Switzerland established diplomatic relations on 23 June 1981.[1][2] Switzerland was one of the first countries to recognize the independence of the Maldives in 1965.[2][3]

The Maldives has an embassy in Geneva, Switzerland since 2010 and is accredited to the country and other international organizations.[2]

Switzerland has a Consulate in Malé, the capital of Maldives as well as a non resident ambassador in the consular district in Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka.[4]
