Malik Muhammad Ali Awan[1][2][3][4] born on 3 August 1982 is grandson of Malik Karam Bakhsh Awan, Member National Assembly of Pakistan MNA 1970-77 from legendary Awan tribe of District Khushab. His maternal grandfather Malik Naeem Khan was also MNA 1985-96. Malik Naeem was Federal Minister for commerce and Provincial Minister for Irrigation. His father Brigadier Malik Sawal Khan was first Muslim GOC at 4 Balloch regiment in Pakistan Army and first commissioned officer from District Khushab.His real elder brother Maj.General Malik Muhammad Saleem Khan served as Chairman Pasco and uncle Brig.Malik Hayat Khan was DG ISI Inter-services Intelligence in 1956.

After studying from the elite institutions of Pakistan and abroad, Malik M. Ali Awan joined his family business and served as CEO at Malik Karam Bux and Company Limited which is proprietor of The Chiniot Collieries established since 1951 and located near villages of Pail-Padhrar of District Khushab. He was made co-convenyor at mining committee by Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He was awarded Youth Award by Lahore Chamber of Commerce as youngest successful businessman.

Due to his inspiration from Benazir Bhutto, chairperson of Pakistan People's Party PPP. He officially joined PPP in 2008 at Governor House Lahore. Governor Salman Taseer welcomed him in PPP and hold joint press conference at Governor House. Malik M. Ali Awan was officially made District President People's Youth Organisation PYO and People's Labour Bureau. He established organisational memberships throughout whole district Khushab. PPP Punjab acting President Samiullah Khan nominated him member of Provincial Executive Committee. Mr.Shiekh Mansoor Ahmed, General Secretary Human Rights Cell PPP included him as youngest member at national foreign affairs committee PPP. Mr.Shiekh Mansoor Ahmed introduced him to then President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari as talented youngster with deep knowledge of PPP ideology and especially skilled in diplomatic affairs. Together, they visited United States of America and were official guests at US State department. Professor Stephen Cohen hosted a special conference and lunch at Brooking Institute. Former US Ambassador Wendy Chamberlain meet them at Middle East Institute, Washington D.C.
