Cairel Adrin Ibrahim or better known as Malique or The General (born 21 August 1977) is a Malaysian singer, composer, lyricist and record producer. Originally from Johor Bahru, Johor. He is a former member of the hip hop duo Too Phat with Joe Flizzow. After the duo disbanded in 2007, Malique and Joe moved solo. Since moving solo, he has been more comfortable behind the scenes where since 2007 he has never appeared in any show and media.

Personal life[edit]

On 8 August 2008, he married the girl of his choice who is also a TV personality, Melissa Maureen in Bali, Indonesia. The ceremony was only attended by their family and close friends.[1] He was blessed with 4 children.

Career[edit]

He entered the country's music industry in 1998 with hip-hop duo Too Phat. He moved solo around 2007.[2]

In 2008, he set up his own record company under the name Qarma Musiq and actively worked by introducing several songs with top artists and new artists under his record company.[3] He actively produced singles such as Kau Yang Punya performing with Najwa, Mantera Beradu performing with M. Nasir, the Cerita Kedai Kopi with Salam, Aku Maafkan Kamu perform with Jamal Abdillah, Teman Pengganti with Black Hanifah and Pejamkan Mata performing with Dayang Nurfaizah.

Producing the first LP titled OK which included 18 songs in 2008. In 2009, he produced a second LP with a joint venture DJ Fuzz Entitled K.O The Mixtape which includes 19 songs.[4] In 2015, he introduced a new artist under Qarma Musiq, Nukilan comprising 3 people, Kirana, Kelana and Agenda with a special appearance in the song with Indonesian pop artist Shae in the song Rindu. In mid-April 2015, Nukilan released their first single, Aduh Neng, which was regularly played on radio funnels. In December 2016, he produced a new LP titled TKO: Pejamkan Mata which included 8 single songs that were released between 2008-2015 and included 3 new songs including Pejamkan Mata performing with Dayang Nurfaizah.

In March 2017, at the 2017 Meletop ERA Awards event. Malique had "reappeared" on stage to perform his own song Pejamkan Mata with Dayang Nurfaizah but the fact was that it was not Malique who was seen during the show but many fans who attended the night were so happy to hear Malique's voice live after 10 years.[5]
