Manbar Nath

Manbar Nath was the martyr of Quit India Movement in 1942. He was born in 1917 in the Darrang district of Assam, India. He joined the mass movement against the British in 1942. He was shot and killed by police, as he was trying to hoist Tiranga, the tri-coloured national flag of India, at Dhekiajuli police station, on September 20, 1942. He was the first person who led the procession to the Dhekiajuli police station, to hoist tri-colour flag, as a form of protest against British rule.[1][2]
