Mandeep Bevli is a celebrated performer and news anchor in the Indian South Asian media market. She is known for her English speaking nightly news and entertainment broadcasts, Bollywood film productions, game shows and television series.

Career[edit]

Her career has spanned 16 years to date, beginning in the mid 90s working internationally with the industry’s top actors, political figures and popular and traditional music professionals. With the burgeoning of the television and film industry in the mid 1990s by the early 2000s Mandeep Bevli had become a national household name recognizable to hundreds of millions of viewers.

A self made professional Mandeep began her career by working hard to secure projects on her own. She began hosting internationally televised travel, culture and food shows, a game show followed by a Bollywood feature film and hosted several internationally aired prime time shows such as “Entertainment Quarter”, “Grandstand” “Head Start” for the major India Today Media group. Her broad experience ranges from interviews with notable figures such as Mummar Kaddafi, Amitabh Bacchan to performances with Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra. She moved to Los Angeles to pursue professional experiences and education in the art of performance to hone her craft as an actress. She attended classes, and participated in reflection and exploring self-realization techniques such as method acting. Realizing that her work and the notoriety that comes with it comes with a host of community responsibilities, her goal now is to focus on participating in the more diverse and evolved US market and produce a meaningful positive social impact via her performances.

“I’m not one to revel in the trimmings and trappings afforded by celebrity, I am always on the quest to pursue impactful work or work that leaves a positive mark...which for me means working on the kind of projects that are more in line with my socially conscious sensibilities.”

She also entered and voted out by viewers in fifth season of the reality television show Bigg Boss. She also presents live shows[1] and has worked for various other channels for other kinds of programs also. She has compered many live shows. For instance, Mr Monte Carlo show[2] by Oswal Group. She was also on DD Metro[3] presenting Khabrein Bollywood Ki.

Her colleagues on Headlines include Avantika, Nida Khan[4] besides others. Mandeep has a good sense of humor and presents any show with instant wits[2] and jokes to entertain the audience. Mandeep, aka Mandy (her nickname), specializes in hosting shows related to Bollywood rumors,[5] gossip etc. Although at times she does present the main news segment.
