The Manhattan Fruitier company was founded in 1987 by Lee Grimsbo and Jehv Gold.[1][4] The company arranges, sells and delivers gourmet fruit and gift baskets.[5] Originally located in New York City, Manhattan Fruitier relocated in 2011 to Long Island City as the company expanded and needed a larger manufacturing facility.[1] Manhattan Fruitier is owned and managed by husband and wife, Jehv Gold and Lauren Westbrook. The owners of the company have stated that they find inspiration for their arrangements from Dutch still-life paintings and each arrangement is packaged in an antique looking wicker basket to complete the look of an old fashioned luxury gift.[6]
