Manjahari Pond

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Manjahari pond is a man-made pond located in the village of Manjahari, in the Baloch tehsil of Azad Kashmir. Its age is approximately two to three hundred years old. This pond is said to be of great historical importance in many respects. In 1947, during the Indo-Pakistan War, the dry pond was used to hold 40 Dogars and Sikhs, captured as prisoners by Captain Sher Baz. Additionally, the pond was the site of the deaths of Khan Saduzai's 4 Sudhnuti Jhata Force Jahanin on October 7, 1947. Some accounts suggest that multiple prisoners escaped the pond and hid in a cave in Lohi Pahar, where Sardar Feroz Ali Khan Saduzai, Company Commander of 4 Sidhnuti, put grass inside the cave and burnt them alive.[1][2]
