Career[edit]

Manoj Nair is a UK-Based serial entrepreneur, Founder and CEO of FinTech / PropTech (Real Estate) start up RedGirraffe.com.[1] He comes from an army family background. Was born in Bangalore and bred in New Delhi. He currently heads a London headquartered FinTech / Real Estate Technology venture. He has recently launched its Financial technology and real estate operations in India.[2]

His company, RedGirraffe.com was mentioned in Forbes as "India's $20 Billion Residential Rental Market And Its Tech Disruptor".[3] According to Forbes, the $20 billion residential rental market consists of $13.5 billion in urban, $0.8 billion in rural, and $5.7 billion in vacant Non-Resident Indian property brokerage. This opportunity in Indian real estate market has attracted a number of property-technology start-ups aimed at solving this problem. By far in Real Estate space within India, this business vertical remains the toughest to ace. RedGirraffe.com launched its services in India in November of 2015. [4][5][6] It needs to be seen if the company actually manages to work its way through this otherwise tough market. It's quite early days to comment either for or against.

As a FinTech / PropTech company, RedGirraffe claims to restructure the hitherto unstructured RE industry in such countries where inconsistencies and non-transparency still exists.[4] It claims to bring TRANSPARENCY within its operation via its rental FIN-TECH play called (RentPay). [7][8] It was recently declared as a 'must-own-app' in the Indian context of cashless economy.[9][10][11] The company has signed up and technologically integrated with the large national and international banks in India[12][13][14] & the United Kingdom. Public documents refer that the company has filed patents in several countries where it intends to launch the tech services of RentPay. With the recent unprecedented act of demonetization in India, the company seems to have benefited itself with initial customer traction thereby serving a demand surge[15][16][17].

Manoj formed his first company that used to trade in captive diesel power plants in Delhi in 1998 as a young 22. That grew into a holistic turnkey power plant solution venture (He says, it was purely due to market entry timing) and he sold his stake in 2005. Later he became a civil servant with the Indian Government before going on to head an Asset Management Company in London.[18] Manoj is actively involved in charity work and has supported Asian Voice Charity Awards powered by Charity Clarity 2016. The Awards are not only about charities which seek to solve the most pressing social issues of our time both in Britain and globally, but also for those that seek to innovate and strive for excellence and whose success is judged by their end results. He is seen as passionate about creating and sustaining 'Markets without Barriers' and has signed the referendum backing Remain during the Brexit vote.[19] As a former civil servant working on monetary policies, Manoj occasionally comments on the government policies, especially those that affect the Financial Technology / economy and Real Estate sector.[20][21]

Education[edit]

Manoj holds a distinction in Electrical Engineering; Sat for Indian Civil services Examination 2005 with Masters in Psychology, Sociology and Anthropology and secured All India rank of 157. He was among the top rankers in the prestigious Indian Civil Service Interview that year. He is a Gold Medalist in Masters in Business Law and Taxation from NALSAR University of Law (awarded to him at National Academy of Direct Taxes, Nagpur) and is a High merit scholar (in dissertation and research papers) alumnus of London School of Economics and Political Science and Harvard Business School.

Personal life[edit]

Manoj is married to Shruti Nair (an architect by profession) and has a son Dev (12 years old) and a daughter Dia (8 years old). He lives with his family in London. His hobbies include Horse riding, Sport Pistol (25 Meter), Travelling, Reading, Fitness and Music (Kishore Kumar sung old Hindi melodies and BBC weekly Top 40 UK being his absolute favorites).
