Maqlu (artist)

Maqlu is an independent Vancouver-based alt-rock and industrial artist. Maqlu released her debut EP, Blood, on April 30, 2010. Blood charted on several college radio stations across Canada, most notably hitting #1 at CJAM in Winsdor on September 14, 2010[1] and #10 on !earshot's national electronic chart for September 28, 2010.[2]

The follow-up to Blood was Black, released on October 31, 2010. Black also charted on Canadian college radio, reaching #6 on !earshot's national electronic chart for November 23, 2010[3] as well as #8 on ChartAttack's Electronic Chart for November 30, 2010.[4]

The single "Whore" from Black was the Indie Track of the Day for ExploreMusic on November 16, 2010.[5]

In addition to her own music, Maqlu has remixed for Left Spine Down on Smartbomb 2.3: The Underground Mixes ("Reset – Maqlu Remix") and iVardensphere on Remixes Vol. 1 ("Jigsaw – Speak Mix by Maqlu").
