Marcia A. Zimmerman is an American rabbi. She became the first woman to lead a synagogue larger than 2,000 households[1] when she became the senior Rabbi of Temple Israel in Minneapolis, MN in 2001.
Career[edit]
In 2011, Zimmerman described the synagogue's urban location by saying "our address is our mission and vision."[2][3]
She was featured on the Mary Hanson show[4] and is a regular contributor to CBS affiliate WCCO.[5][6][7]
On October 29, 2002, Zimmerman led the a prayer at the memorial service for Senator Paul David Wellstone and his family.[8]
On October 28, 2018, she opened the synagogue to the Twin Cities community for a memorial service after the Tree of Life Pittsburgh Synagogue Shooting.[9]
