Marco Cianni is an Australian Chartered Engineer.

Early life and education[edit]

Cianni served as a specialist communications officer in the armed forces.[1] He received a bachelor of science, master of science and PhD. in electronics and telecommunications engineering.[1][2]

He is a fellow of Fellow of Engineers Australia[21] , Fellow of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects,[9] and Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.[22]

He was responsible for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at Rolls-Royce MTU Solutions as architect of the Distributed Computing AI HiPER Ring (utilising the Media Redundancy Protocol) optical fibre Ethernet networks, for HNoMS Maud of the Royal Norwegian Navy[23][24] and Royal Fleet Auxiliary Military Afloat Reach and Sustainability (MARS) Tide-class tanker that supply and support the Royal Navy's Queen Elizabeth-class aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth and HMS Prince of Wales.[25]

He was a sales director at Harris/CapRock Communications. He became vice president for energy markets at Pacific Telecom in 2011.[26][27]

He married Rebecca Simone on March 19, 2011 in Queenstown, New Zealand
