Marco Jones Ekamba (born 14 October 1992), known as Marco Jones or Marco, is a Belgian professional footballer born in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, who plays as a midfielder.[1]
Club career
At age 8, Marco made an unsuccessful attempt to join the Youth Formation Center of Anderlecht. A year later, he succeeded in his attempt to join the Youth Formation Center of FCM Brussels club.
He then followed a special program of football and school at CERIA, and caught the eye of Anderlecht at age 13, who invited him to join the formation center.[2] Marco signed his first professional contract in Belgian First Division A with Anderlecht at age 18. One year later, he joined Cercle Brugge K.S.V. when Bob Peeters was head coach.[3] After one season and limited experience, he signed in Serie A with Lazio[4] where he made his first professional starting appearance in May 2012.[5]
International career
Marco played in Belgium U16 in 2008 and appeared in 3 matches.
