Marco Kruger (born 20 August 1992 in Nelspruit, South Africa) is a South African rugby union player, who most recently played for the [[{{{tan}}}|{{{t}}}]].[1] His regular position is lock or loose forward.
Career
Youth and Varsity Rugby
Kruger is originally from Malelane and completed his schooling at Nelspruit Hoërskool. In 2011, he represented the [[{{{tan}}}|{{{t}}}]] in the 2011 Under-19 Provincial Championship and in 2012 and 2013 he played for the [[{{{tan}}}|{{{t}}}]]s in the Under-21 Provincial Championships.
He also played for the UP Tuks Blue Bulls Academy as well as for Tuks Under-20 and Under-21, winning the Carlton League in Pretoria.[2]
Pumas
Marco joined Nelspruit-based outfit the [[{{{tan}}}|{{{t}}}]] for the 2014 season[2] and made his debut for [[{{{tan}}}|{{{t}}}]] in their 2014 Vodacom Cup match against the [[{{{tan}}}|{{{t}}}]] in Polokwane, helping them to an 88–0 victory.[3] in his only appearance in the competition.
He was an unused member of the Pumas 2015 Vodacom Cup squad that won the competition for the first time in their history, beating [[{{{tan}}}|{{{t}}}]] 24–7 in the final.[4]
Kruger joined Welkom-based outfit the [[{{{tan}}}|{{{t}}}]] on a loan deal for the 2015 Currie Cup qualification tournament, where he made six appearances. He was then named in the Pumas squad for the 2015 Currie Cup Premier Division.
