Marcus S. Campbell (born February 7, 1994, in Honolulu) is a writer, poet, and journalist based out of Phoenix, Arizona. Campbell's work centers around race, identity, addiction, masculinity, and mental health. His first full-length collection, titled My Identity as a Stereotypical Side Character, was published in February 2022 by Brick Cave Media.[1]

Professional life

Marcus S. Campbell started writing poetry under Josh Rathkamp at Mesa Community College.[2] Within a few years, he had published his first piece of poetry in the 2019 Maricopa Community Colleges Artists of Promise Publication.[3] Campbell's first book, My Identity as a Stereotypical Side Character, was published in February 2022 by Brick Cave Media.

My Identity as a Stereotypical Side Character is described as “a complex interlocking of personal, community and society that reflects the challenges of growing up as a minority in the new millennium.” Campbell's work has appeared previously in publications including The Mesa Legend, Left/Right News, Artists of Promise and Passages.
