Margaret Feierabend
Margaret Feierabend (born 1951) is an American politician and former mayor and current city councilwoman representing Bristol, Tennessee. She was the first female mayor of Bristol, Tennessee.

Born in Colombia, Missouri, and raised in Baton Rogue, Louisiana, Margaret attended Robert E. Lee High School in Baton Rouge, graduating in 1969. She studied English at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge earning her B.A. in 1974 and competed a Masters of Education in Community Health Education in 1978 at University of North Carolina, Greensboro.[1] In 1975 she married Raymond H. (”Robin”) Feierabend, Jr., a doctor. The couple moved to Bristol in 1982. They have three children.
City Council and Community Service[edit]
Margaret became the first woman mayor of Bristol, TN when she was elected to serve by the city council in 1997–1998.[2] She served another term from July 2010 to July 2011 and two more consecutive terms from July 2018 to June 2020. In between she spent 16 years on the Bristol City Council where she is currently serving, representing the South District.[3][4][5]
She has used her position to advocate for families and children as well as for historic, cultural, and natural preservation. Margaret has served as a volunteer and in leadership positions for numerous local and state nonprofits, including as President of the Bristol Parent Teacher Association, a board member for Birthplace of Country Music Alliance, Chair of the Youth Networking Alliance for Bristol's Promise, a volunteer for the Bristol Youth Leadership and Friends of Steele Creek Nature Center and Park, among others. She is also a member of the State Street United Methodist Church.
