Weston Wamp (born March 26, 1987) is an American politician and entrepreneur who is the current mayor of Hamilton County, Tennessee. He is a member of the Republican Party and a noted conservative reformer.

Wamp was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee and graduated from Baylor School and the University of Tennessee. He worked as a venture capitalist and co-founder of Dynamo, a startup investment fund.[1] He also served as a senior political strategist at Issue One, a nonpartisan organization that advocates for campaign finance reform.[2]

Wamp ran for Congress twice in 2012 and 2014, challenging incumbent Charles J. Fleischmann in the Republican primary for Tennessee's 3rd congressional district. He lost both times by narrow margins.[3]

In 2021, Wamp announced his candidacy for Hamilton County mayor, succeeding Jim Coppinger, who did not seek re-election. He won the Republican primary and defeated Democrat Matt Adams in the general election.[4]

As the fourth Mayor of Hamilton County, Wamp is the youngest person to ever hold the office. Wamp has pledged to focus on education, economic development, public safety, and environmental issues. [5]

Wamp is the son of former Tennessee Representative Zach Wamp. His sister Coty Wamp currently serves as Hamilton County District Attorney.[6]

He is also the host of Swamp Stories, a podcast that explores political corruption and solutions.[7]
