Lady Margarita Elizabeth Rose Alleyne Armstrong-Jones (born 14 May 2002) styled as Honourable until 2017 (then styled as Lady) is the daughter of David Armstrong-Jones, 2nd Earl of Snowdon and Serena Armstrong-Jones, Countess of Snowdon, also the youngest grandchild of Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon grandniece of Queen Elizabeth II. When she was borned she was in the 13th in the line of succesion to the British throne, now she is in the 27th, preceeded by her father and brother; the three of them are the first in the order of succession who are not direct descendants of The Queen.

The birth[edit]

Margarita Armstrong-Jones was born in 14 May 2002 at Portland Hospital, 3 months after the death of her paternal grandmother Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon, and a month and a half after the death of her great-grandmother - Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother. Her godparents are Sarah Chatto and William Stanhope, Viscount Petersham.

Name[edit]

Her first name is a tribute to her grand mother, Princess Margaret, and her middle name is to tribute her great-grandmother, The Queen Mother. Both of them passed away shortly before her birth. Rose, as her father stated in Majesty magazine, was selected by her brother Charles. And Alleyne is one of her mother's middle names.

Personal life[edit]

Her most public engagement was being one of the bridemaids in 2011 at her second cousin - Prince William's wedding when he married Catherine Middleton at the Westminster Abbey, she was 8 at that time.[1]. She also attended Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding, as well as Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank's wedding[2]

In 2012, she attended with her parents and elder brother a service of thanksgiving at Windsor for her late grandmother, Princess Margaret, and later the Thanksgiving Service in St Paul’s Cathedral in honour of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.[3]

At the age of 14, she attended her first fashion event, the Dior Cruise, at Blenheim Palace.[4] She and her third cousin Eloise Taylor, daughter of Lady Helen Taylor, modeled for the first time to raise funds for Kids Company, organized by Chelsea Ballet Schools.[5]

On March 29, 2022; Margarita attended with her father, aunt, uncle and cousins another thanksgiving service for her greatuncle, Prince Philip at the Westminster Abbey.

Like her brother, she lives a quiet life away from press scrutiny. However, it is known that she works as a jewellery designer.[6]

Education[edit]

The youngest David's children attended Garden House School in Chelsea before moving to Tudor Hall School in Banbury, Oxfordshire to complete her GCSEs and A-Levels.[7][6]Now, she is a student at the Oxford Brookes University.
