Maria Robles
Maria Elena Batista Robles (born August 4, 1963) is an American artist better known for her Neo Abstract paintings and drawing style.
Early life
Robles was born in Cuba Holguín, Cuba. She began her career in her studies of fine arts at the Union College in New Jersey, and in 2002 was awarded a Special County Prize for her painting and style of drawing. In 1999 she began the Neo abstract way in the small section of a town Varios de Italiano or also known as Peter's Town in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Robles, as a child, was fortunate to leave communist Cuba with her mother, father and two younger siblings in the 1970s while the country was going through a post-revolution regime change. Her creative style is said to be from her religious upbringing as a Catholic growing up and having been living in a community that truly inspired her to create a style of abstract similar to realism.
Paintings
Today Robles’ paintings of her art style can be found in various places: churches, with private collectors, schools and colleges. Maria is currently working on releasing more of her artwork and collections that are known to be a new era of abstract that can only be compared to Salvador Salvador Dali.
