Maris Vijay was born and raised up in Chennai. His father J. Joseph Stephen is a Roman Catholic and a Central Government Railway Employee. His mother J.S. Celine was born as a Roman Catholic later converted herself from Catholicism to Protestantism, is a school teacher. At the age of 2, his father abandoned them and he grew up in the love and care of his mother who struggled hard to raise Maris.
Maris studied at St Gabriel’s Higher Secondary School Broadway Chennai and won many awards in singing. He was an athlete & football player who played in state inter division level. He completed his bachelor’s degree from Dr. M.G.R. Engineering College and Sound Engineering from kerala. His Mother wanted him to become a pianist. He started playing keyboard in church choirs and at school and developed interest over synthesizers. Later he completed his grade exam from Trinity College of Music, London.[2]
Maris Vijay started his film career in 2013 when he began Miracle Waves Studio, a recording and mixing studio. He was approached by film director "Paarthi" to compose the score and soundtrack for his Tamil film, Vingyani. Maris debuted as a film composer from this film in 2014.
In 2018, Maris get acclaimed for the film Villavan: The Vigilante (2018) for sound design and background scoring. He also sung a song in this film.

Maris Vijay has also been involved in non-film projects inspired by the music icons such as A. R. Rahman. He composed songs for School Anthem for many schools.

Maris also did Mangalya Dosham (2020) in Color Tamil Episode 27 to Episode 99. Title changed as Maangalya Santhosham Episode 100 to Episode 124 Maris Vijay Screen Name as Sminthin Joshua.
Maris Vijay also composed Devotional songs such as Saambavii Saranam (2019), Raagangal Solli Thana Naadhe (2020) music produced on M-Muzik official.
In 2017, Maris founded a music studio "Trinity Wave Studio", inaugurated by Kalaipuli S. Thanu. He recorded many Local, National, Internationally released albums and have done countless demo tapes in the Christian Devotional and Commercial field inclusive of all kinds of Musical Works and Cinema. Miracle Music Production Company has established its Recording Theatre in the name of MIRACLE WAVES in 2011.
Later Maris created the new production label called M-Muzik. Many international artists were Collaborated with M-Muzik officially such as "Kaasy".
