Mark Flood Animations is a Scottish animated film production company established in 2014 by filmmaker and animator Mark Flood.[1][2][3] The company's office is currently based in central Glasgow.[4][5]
History[edit]
While studying at the Glasgow School of Art, Mark Flood met fellow young artists Imraan Ali, Jack Morrison and Amy Gregson,[6] and the four established an animators' group in Glasgow under the name Mark Flood Animations to produce hand-drawn animation.[7] During this time, the group produced short films such as Two Women, One Heart and The Freak Next Door, which were shown in both the US and UK, at festivals such as the Chicago International Children's Film Festival.[8][9]
After beginning their largest project yet, Operation Alley Cat, it was decided the group was to become a statutory firm with the support of Business Gateway, The Prince's Trust and Young Enterprise Scotland, a plan that was set back after Flood was rushed to hospital from suffering a stroke, from which he fully recovered.[7][6]
Current Ventures[edit]
The studio is currently working on a 30-minute animation Operation Alley Cat,[7][6] with an Internet series, World Wide Web in early development.[7]
