Mark Holcomb (born October 21, 1982), is the guitarist of the Grammy-Nominated progressive metal band Periphery.[1][2] He is also founder of the project Haunted Shores (featuring Periphery guitarist Misha Mansoor) as well as a guest-writer for Anneke van Giersbergen and Jason Richardson. Holcomb is also a prominent voice-actor in the Video game industry, most recently contributing voices for two characters for 2019's universally-acclaimed PC release Disco Elysium. [3]

3DOT Recordings[edit]

Holcomb is a partner in 3DOT Recordings, along with Periphery bandmates Misha Mansoor, Spencer Sotelo, Jake Bowen, and Matt Halpern. The label releases material created by Periphery, all of its associated side projects, and third party bands signed to the label.

Signature Instruments[edit]

Holcomb collaborated with PRS Guitars on a US-made signature guitar in 2015. In 2017, PRS turned the guitar into a full-fledged SE model, whose success brought on the development of a 7-string version of the guitar, released in 2019. Holcomb has also collaborated with Seymour Duncan on the Dark Sun reverb/delay pedal, as well as the Alpha/Omega pickup set.

Voice-Acting[edit]

Holcomb contributed voice-acting for the PC game, Disco Elysium in 2019. He voiced two characters, Tommy L'Homme and Call Me Manana, alongside Mikee Goodman, singer of the band SikTh.[3]

Influences[edit]

Holcomb cites several musicians as influences from a wide range of genres. Notably, he cites Devin Townsend, Randy Rhoads, James Hetfield and Yngwie Malmsteen as being important to his development as a guitar player. Other notable musicians include Deftones, Emperor, and Opeth.[4]
