Personal life and education[edit]

Mark was born on March 29, 1968, in Rockford, IL to Steve and Marilyn Nation. He is married to Leslie Sutton Nation and they have one daughter and one son. Mark and his family live in Tennessee.[1]

Mark attended The Baylor School in Chattanooga, TN, graduating in 1986. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee - Chattanooga, where he graduated summa cum laude. He also holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.[2]

Career[edit]

Mark Nation is a management and leadership consultant, an executive coach, as well as an author and speaker.[3] Mark is the founder and President of Nation Leadership, the Made for Amazing Project, as well as the Harvard Help Circle.

Thus far in his career, he has developed companies in five industries: enterprise technology, finance, entertainment, construction, and professional services. He served as an executive at JDA Software, and as Executive in Residence and Chief Mentor at The Company Lab (CO.LAB) in Chattanooga, TN.[4]He has managed start-ups and has held executive positions at SAP, Siebel Systems (Oracle), and UNUM

His forthcoming book Made For Amazing is set to release on October 17, 2017.[5]

Publications[edit]

Mark is the author of Made for Amazing, a self book that urges readers to pursue a life of significance and impact by "seeking deeper meaning in life," and discovering one's "authentic leadership purpose." It is based on the story of Joshua Lynk, a young man with an extraordinary musical talent who overcomes tremendous obstacles. The book, published by Greenleaf, is set to release on October 17, 2017.[6] Nick Craig, the president of the Authentic Leadership Institute, says of Mark's book, "We all desire a journey of self-awareness which reveals a deeper purpose that truly matters. Mark chronicles this journey for us, offering timeless principles that help each of us to lead in very uncertain times.”
