Martin Munro (born 5 September 1983) is a South African actor. He is perhaps best known for his roles in the Cinemax series Warrior, and Universal Pictures' 2022 release Beast. He has also starred in well-known South African films Moffie and Krotoa.
Early life and Career
Martin was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa. He is the youngest of two brothers and developed a passion for film and acting at a young age. He attended the Helen O’Grady drama academy in his teens and later gained his degree at AFDA film school.
Martin Munro made his debut in the British crime drama series “Silent Witness” playing the role of "Mike" in two episodes. He would go on to feature in award-winning South African production Krotoa, playing the role of "Jean Bassette". In 2019 he played "Lt Engel" in the film Moffie which premiered at the 76th Venice Film Festival.
His international work includes playing "Leonard Raice" in three seasons of the TV series Warrior. In 2022 he played the role of "Kees" in the feature film Beast alongside Idris Elba and Sharlto Copley.
Martin Munro has featured in TV series such as Black Sails and Black Mirror. He also recently played the role of "Marvin Lobberts" in seven episodes of Arendsvlei, a popular South African Telenovela. His filmography also includes roles in Hammarskjöld, Boy Kills World and The Tunnel.
