Mas SKabeche is a duo of Mexican brothers currently active, and recognized as one of the most successful channels in Mexico and the sixteenth position of YouTube in Mexico with 10.8 million subscribers. Formed in Mexico City, it is incorporated since 2014 by Bryan Villanueva Salazar (December 31, 1994) and Eddy Villanueva Salazar (August 26, 1996). Rooted in sharing jokes, vlogs, challenges with various artists and musicals.[1]
Also, thanks to their success, they managed to get their work on the radio. As reported by 20 Minutes, the brothers had their own space on the WakeUp Exa station. There they hosted a special segment where they talked about Internet trends. Already for 2019 and with much greater success, they took the award for Favorite Comic Youtuber[2] in the Kids’ Choice Awards 2019.
Trabajo en equipo[edit]
The Bryan / Eddy duo started in Mexico.
Bryan and Eddy's idols are the singers, J Balvin, Rosalía and Dua Lipa. They learned to play many of his songs and imitated his sound. Their first compositions were made in the house of Villanueva Salazar (Mexico City). They used to invite friends such as Lesslie Polinesia, Karen Polinesia and Rafael Polinesio and their colleagues from the university of Bryan's art to listening to the performances of his songs.
Although it is believed that each one composed the songs on their own and simply credited the duo, it is strange that a song was completed without the participation of both [citation needed]. Many times, one of them would make the first sketches of an idea (or fragments of a song) for the other to finish or improve. Both composed together between 2018 and 2019. However, with the passage of time, the songs increasingly showed the imprint of one, while the other collaborated with some verses or with an alternative chord. "With you I want to be" is an example of one of SKabeche's songs in which, being by Bryan Villanueva, it contains a fragment made by Eddy Villanueva ("That between your sweet rarity ...") added in the middle of the composition of that one ("I find so much beauty ..."). In an interview for 20 Minutes magazine in 2017, Bryan said: "We love having a new channel of communication with people who follow us and reach a larger audience. The idea with this section is to bring trends to the public through a kind of important points, highlighting 'hash tag', fashion, etc. We will add to the note, we will have fun and we will also put together a story with the announcers."[3][4]
Jokes and challenges[edit]
Bryan and Eddy began to perform pranks and challenges. Bryan suggested that all jokes and challenges by at least one of them (whether done individually by one or those that the two worked on) should be credited to both. This was to simulate the familiarity of Los Polinesio. Between January 2014 and December 2020, all of their pranks were credited.[5]
