The Masaf is an Assault rifle designed by Iranian Defense Industries Organization in 2016. This weapon is very similar in appearance to the HK416 and M4 rifle weapon. This rifle has two versions , the first version is in NATO caliber 5.56×45mm and the second in 7.62×51mm caliber. The Masaf can be fitted with a variety of sights including night vision and telescopic sights with grenade launcher. These weapons are still being tested.
Design detail[edit]
Most parts of this weapon are made of metal and some parts are made of high strength plastic.
This weapon has the ability to install a variety of accessories including night vision, vertical foregrip, flashlights and lasers.
Because this weapon has two versions, it has two types of magazine. The first version, which has a caliber of 5.56, which is similar to most of the weapons of NATO and Western countries, and the second version, which has a caliber of 7.62, has a shorter magazine than the first version.
Magazines[edit]
This rifle has two different magazines. The first type of magazine of this weapon is like the magazines of M16 and M4 weapons that is used for 5.56x45mm caliber. The second type of magazine of this weapon is like the magazine of HK417 rifle that is used for 7.62×51mm caliber.

- Iran: This gun is still being tested by both Iranian army and IRGC for replacing by their old AK-47 and Heckler & Koch G3 rifles.
