Masilo Magoro (born 4 June 1970) is a South African actor. He is best known for his roles in the South African soap opera Skeem Saam and the films Mad Buddies (2012) and Gomora Hustle (2013).[1]
Early life And Education
Magoro was in Lenyenye, Tzaneen, South Africa, where he was raised, along with his two older brothers, by his mother, who worked as a nurse. They later moved to Johannesburg to join his father.[1] Magoro's interest in the performing arts began to take shape during his high school days at Thabo High School in Naledi, Soweto, where he got involved with a political student body that also did cultural events. He further honed his craft at Fuba Academy, where he studied drama for three years, and later completed a one-year part-time course at Market Theatre Lab.[2][3]
Acting Career
Magoro's acting career spans over a decade, with notable roles in television dramas and films. He gained recognition for his portrayal of Morena Lerole in the SABC 1 drama series Tshisa (2012) and Charles Kunutu in Skeem Saam (2013). He has also appeared in films such as 16 Bars (2011) and Skeem (2011), and was involved in the production of the movie Gomora Hustle.[2][4]

In 2023 Masilo was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor at the 6th Royalty Soapie Awards for his portrayal of Charles in the television series "Skeem Saam".[5][6][7]
Personal life
Masilo Magoro is married to Pat Magoro, and they have a daughter.[4] In addition to his acting,Magoro has a passion for music particularly gospel music. He is the co-founder of a gospel group called Barorisi ba Lentswe in Lenyenye.[8]
