Matauddin Peerzada Chishty or Motamiyan Chishty IV (born 20 November 1984) is an Indian Sufi scholar and preacher from Gujarat, India.
Biography[edit]
Matauddin Peerzada Chishty was born on 20 November 1984 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, in the Chishty Sufi family. His father Salimuddin Fariduddin Chishty heads the Mota Miyan Mangrol Sharif (Khanwada-e-Chishtiya-Faridiya-Sabiriya, a Sufi order) located in Surat, Gujarat.[1]
He lives in Palej in Bharuch district of Gujarat.
He preaches Sufi principles like brotherhood, unity, cow rearing, communal harmony, spirituality, tree plantation, women's education, tobacco de-addiction.[2][1][3][4]
He has established Global Sufi Peace and Research Foundation, a non-profit organisation.[5]
Family[edit]
Matauddin Peerzada Chishty is a descendant of a Sufi family who trace their ancestry to legendary Sufi saint Ibrahim bin Adham Balkhi and the Prophet Muhammad.[6] His great-grandfather Saiyed Matauddin alias Motamiyan Chishty's III[7] and grandfather Saiyed Fariduddin Chishty held Mota Miyan Mangrol Sharif before his father succeeded.[8]
