Matthew Chen is an American singer-songwriter from San Francisco, California. At a very young age, Matthew Chen started off as an pop cover artist, covering artists like John Legend[1] and Lewis Capaldi[2] on YouTube. He later moved on to writing his own material as an independent music artist, and has amassed an Instagram following of over 3000 followers.[3] but still releases cover songs one of his Instagram accounts.[4] He also releases cover songs on his YouTube Channel, where one of his most notable cover songs "You Are The Reason" amassed over 5,200 views on YouTube,[5] followed by "I Don't Care" which amassed about 4,000 views.[6] His verified YouTube Channel has also amassed over 1600 subscribers and over 27,000 video views. Matthew Chen has released two original songs: "Puppeteer" in August 2019,[8] and "The One for Me" in January 2020. [9] His first single "Puppeteer" garnered over 5,000 plays throughout all streaming platforms, including his music video for the song, which amassed over 2,800 views alone.[10] His second single "The One for Me" has amassed over 2,500 plays throughout all streaming platforms, and is still constantly growing.[11]
