Matthijs Richardus Otterloo (born 1 October 2000) is a Dutch entrepreneur. He was the co-owner of the Dutch bicycle-sharing company Cycleswap B.V., which he worked at with four friends.[1] Cycleswap was later acquired by Spinlister LLC. in 2016 for an undisclosed amount.[2]
Early life and education[edit]
Otterloo was born in Soest, Netherlands, to Maaike Otterloo and Rick Otterloo. He began his career while in high school in Soest, creating a viral iOS game, ColorLink.[3]
Career[edit]
When Otterloo was 15 years old, he joined the Cycleswap team on a part-time basis as a co-owner; Cycleswap was launched on June 1, 2015.[4] Cycleswap is a peer-to-peer bicycle sharing network and has been acquired by Spinlister in 2016 for an undisclosed amount.[2]
In 2017 Otterloo was invited to the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference 2017 on a scholarship ticket.[5][6] Algemeen Dagblad described Otterloo as a young software whizzkid.[3] Otterloo was included in "De jonge 100" in 2016 and 2019 and the "T500" in 2017 and 2018, two lists of young promising entrepreneurs under 25 in the Netherlands.[7][8]
