Robert Oudmayer (born 1962) is a Dutch banker, businessman and executive who is the former chief executive officer (CEO) of Cembra Money Bank from 2009 to 2021.[1]

In 2013 he took GE Money Bank public, rebranding it as Cembra Money Bank.[2] Since its Initial Public Offering (IPO) Cembra Money Bank has been deemed as one of the best bank shares of the decade[3] and was ranked by Forbes in their World's Best Banks list in 2019.[4]

Oudmayer holds a Bachelors in Hospitality and Management from Hotel School The Hague, Hospitality Business School.[1]

Career[edit]

Oudmayer joined PSA Peugeot Citroën in 1991 where he held the positions of Manager Financial Services, European Risk Manager, Managing Director and Finance Director.[1]

In 1999 he joined TIP Trailer Services, where his roles included Chief Operating Officer (COO), Operations & Quality Director Europe and Managing Director Benelux. In 2001 he became Managing Director TIP and GE Capital Rail Services.[1]

Between 2003 and 2005 Oudmayer joined GE Money Bank Switzerland before being appointed CEO of GE Money Bank Portugal in 2005.[1]

Oudmayer returned to Switzerland in 2009 as CEO GE Money Bank Switzerland, which later was rebranded as Cembra Money Bank in 2013.[1][2] In a company press release he was credited for the successful IPO on the SIX Swiss Exchange in 2013 as well as the positioning of Cembra as the leading provider of consumer credit in Switzerland.[5]

In October 2020, Oudmayer announced that after eleven years in his post, he will be stepping down as CEO in 2021.[6]

Oudmayer serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cembra Money Bank subsidiaries Swissbilling SA and EFL Autoleasing AG.[1]

Personal Life[edit]

Oudmayer is married, father to three children and resides in Zürich, Switzerland.[7][1]
