MaxSea, known commercially as TIMEZERO, is a French marine navigation software company specializing in electronic charting and route planning systems for recreational, commercial, and professional users.
Founded in 1985, the company develops products combining cartography, weather forecasting, radar and sonar integration, and route optimization across multiple platforms used by sailors, fishermen, coast guards, and maritime authorities.
History
MaxSea was founded in 1985 in Bidart, France, by Brice Pryszo, with a focus on adapting computer-based navigation to maritime use.[1]
In 2004, the company entered a technical alliance with Furuno Electric Co., integrating its software with Furuno's NavNet marine electronics.[2]
In 2009, MaxSea’s parent group, Signet S.A., acquired the U.S. marine navigation firm Nobeltec from Jeppesen, consolidating both product lines under the TIMEZERO brand.[3]
Corporate Structure
MaxSea International operates under the SigNet Group, alongside MapMedia (specializing in maritime cartography) and Nobeltec in the United States. A subsidiary, MaxSea Naval S.L., headquartered in Barcelona, manages certain institutional and professional activities.[4]
