Inova Software is the maker of a cloud-based biopharma CRM for partnerships. The company is based in Lyon, France, with offices in New York City, New York and Tokyo, Japan. Its web application, Inova, is designed to help life sciences and biotechnology companies manage their partnerships.

The company has 50 employees and its software is used by approximately 100 life science companies.

History[edit]

Inova Software was founded in 2010 by Gilles Toulemonde, David Carteret and Fritz Eisenhart by merging Inova and Vertical*i.[1] The merger combined Vertical*i’s business development and alliance management software with Inova’s innovation software. The newly merged company turned its focus to creating a software that would help life sciences companies find external innovations.

In 2015, Inova Software signed an ongoing strategic partnership with the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) to redesign BIO’s One-on-One Partnering software and to connect it to Inova Software’s CRM. The One-on-One Partnering software is used at the BIO International Convention, BIO One-on-One Partnering @ JP Morgan, BIO Asia, BIO Latin America, BIO CEO and BIO World Congress.[2] In 2017, the BIO International Convention hosted over 41,000 one-to-one meetings.[3]

Operations[edit]

Inova Software began to transform its business model from perpetual licenses to SaaS in 2014. By 2015, Inova Software increased its SaaS sales to life science companies by 55% and signed 20 new biopharma company clients.[4] The following year, Inova Software expanded its operations by opening an office in Tokyo, Japan.[5] Although Inova Software is headquartered in France, 80% of its revenue comes from abroad (45% from the United States of America, 33% from Europe, 2% from the rest of the world) and 20% from France.[6][7]
