Max Whitaker

Max Whitaker is a UK-based photographer whose work mostly involves people and portraits, often related to arts subjects. Starting photography when an undergraduate at Columbia University (New York, USA) work has mainly involved publishing/media and corporate purposes, commencing in `London, England, in 1985.

Exhibited at the Royal Photographic Society annual International Print Exhibition in 2008. Certain of his portraits (incl. Anita Brookner and Michael Baxandall) are held in the National Portrait Gallery, London collection.[1] Faces of the Blues selections from his Blues musicians archives (shot between 1985–2005) were exhibited at the Glastonbury Festival in 2005, and also in 2011 at the Royal Photographic Society.

Extensive archive includes, among others, 1970s street photographs of Manhattan/NYC , Italy and Italians, and Blues & Americana musicians.

He is a cousin of the late Royal affairs correspondent James Whitaker, racing photographer Edward Whitaker, and journalist/editor Thomas Whitaker.
